Essex Labor Day Grand Marshals

Jim and Joyce Long have been named Grand Marshals for the 2018 Essex Labor Day Parade.  The nomination letter reads "The longs have been involved in all aspects of Labor Day for many years by working behind the scenes to see that everything gets done with a smile.  They paint, bake and work without complaint.  They grew up in Essex and also raised their family here, many of whom are strong Essex advocates also.  I can't think of anyone more worthy of grand marshal than these two."

Both are very active in their church and community, and Jim served on the city council.
