Essex Community Club awarded $5,000 in grant money to go toward Business Community Development. The project estimates are over $22,500 in total investments! There were two qualifications for application:
Eleven businesses, building owners and organizations applied. Following is a note of those groups and their project. Railroad Inn - outside lighting on front and patio Antique Caboose - Installation of windows on north side of building Johnson's Locker - tuck-point and painting of east side Stitches & Baskets - new exterior paint and sign Essex Community Schools - landscaping Tech Support Services - new awning Study & Service Club - landscape Essex sign at city entrance Post Office - power wash and seal brick American Legion #333 - paint building exterior Essex Medical Clinic - repair awning and shingles on building front 529 Iowa Avenue - replace broken window and paint building front All projects must be completed by August 15, 2007. Thanks to our ECC membership for hard work this past year to raise the funds which have gone toward this project.
